Recruitment for the position of State Police Marine Patrol Officer Trainee is being announced to fill vacancies in the New Hampshire State Police – Marine Patrol Unit State Wide for the 2016 Boating Season. These positions have a starting hourly rate of $15.59. Working hours would be varied and would include weekends. The Hew Hampshire Division of State Police – Marine Patrol will invite qualified candidates to participate in physical agility test, written examinations, structured interviews, fingerprint based background investigations, medical examination, etc. Those candidates who are successful in all phases of this selection process and are appointed will receive training in contemporary law enforcement methods. Their subsequent job assignments will include the enforcement of boating and criminal laws in order to protect the lives and property of the public, maintenance of law and order, detection and prevention of crime, apprehension of suspects, and prosecution of violators.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Completion of high school, GED, or its equivalent.
Experience: No experience required. However, experience in operating power or sail boats is desirable.
License/certification: Current Red Cross Multi-Media First Aid Certificate or its equivalent as determined by the Chief or Deputy Chief, Marine Patrol Section. Within six months, applicant must successfully complete requirements to be certified as a part time police officer by the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council unless already certified and certification is still in effect. Must possess a valid NH Boating Education Certificate and a valid motor vehicle driver license.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be atleast eighteen (18) years of age on date of appointment.
- Must be in good physical condition; applicants selected for employment must submit a physicians’ statement of health prior to employment.
- Must be able to pass a 50-yard free style swim test or have a current certificate of swimming ability containing this requirement.
- Must be willing to accept employment in assigned geographic location.
- Must pass written, navigation performance, and physical aptitude and agility examinations administered by the Division of Safety Services.
- Must successfully complete specified in-house Marine Patrol training.
