E-911 Dispatcher
Description:Job Description:
This position is responsible for providing emergency radio dispatching services for a large number of agencies in and around Whitman County.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Attend work on a regular and dependable basis.
- Interact in a professional and respectful manner with staff and the public.
- Listen, hear, and respond smoothly and quickly to requests for assistance from multiple agencies and the public.
- Correctly prioritize and re-prioritize calls on an on-going basis.
- Working in a 24-hour environment, 10- and 12-hour shifts, holiday, and weekends.
- Sitting for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift 5-50 pounds.
Preferred Skills:
The successful candidate must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment, have at least 12 months personal computer experience, ability to type 50 words per minute at 90% accuracy, and communicate clearly and effectively using telephone and radio equipment. Preference is given to those candidates with previous emergency dispatching experience.

Whitcom is a regional 911 dispatch center, serving 2 states, 3 counties 2 universities, and as of 9/23/15, the Nez Perce Tribal Police Department.
We provide 911 and dispatch services for Washington State University PD, Pullman Police and Fire Depts, Whitman Co Sheriff’s Office, 14 rural Whitman Co fire districts, University of Idaho, Moscow Police, Fire and Ambulance, Moscow Rural Fire Department, Clarkston Police and Fire departments, Asotin Co Sheriff’s Office, Asotin Co Fire District 1, Asotin Police and Fire Departments, and many other smaller agencies.

Salary/Benefits: $3060 monthly
