“Narcotics Investigations for School Resource Officers” is a one-day training designed to equip School Resource Officers with the knowledge and specialized skills necessary to identify, investigate, and address drug-related activities within educational settings. Led by experienced narcotics investigators, this course focuses on the unique challenges faced by SROs, including recognizing drugs and trends among youth, understanding legal considerations, and collaborating with school personnel to maintain a safe learning environment. Participants will learn to recognize illicit drugs, and will be armed with the knowledge and confidence to complete narcotics investigations on the campus they are assigned to. This course will assist each officer in developing effective strategies for narcotics enforcement within their assigned school.
Youth Drug Trends and Identification: Explore current drug trends among students, including the identification of substances, paraphernalia, and concealment methods.

Legal Considerations in School Settings: Understand the legal framework governing search and seizure and the role of SROs in enforcement.

Investigation Techniques: Learn effective methods for conducting narcotics investigations within schools, including drug identification, testing, and evidence collection.

Collaboration with School Personnel: Develop strategies for working with educators, counselors, and administrators to address drug-related issues and implement prevention programs.
