Single Officer, Limited Options (SOLO)

Description:

The Single Officer Limited Options (SOLO) class is designed specifically for a one officer response to an active threat event. It will give the officer opinions on tactics for crisis site approach and entry, hallway movement and ultimately techniques to locate, isolate, contain and/or eliminate the threat.

While many active shooter courses concentrate on team movements, using up to 4 officers, SOLO is one of the few that deals with a single officer response. It is geared for:

Small agencies that may only have one officer on patrol
School Resource Officers that are the single armed presence on campus.
College Police Officers who may be on scene when the event happens.
Members of a large agency at lunch or working an off duty job.
Off duty or plain clothes personnel.

SOLO also covers topics such as the decision to make a solo entry, communications, link-up with follow on forces, off duty and plainclothes identification issues and post engagement considerations
