Deaf Sensitivity Training. The class is entitled I NEVER GAVE THAT A THOUGHT! Take a ride with us into the world of silence. Get a feel of how those who are Deaf or hard of hearing survive in their own live and thriving Deaf Community. We’ll show you some aspects of Deaf Culture and how to interact with those who face this life challenge of hearing loss. This class will prepare you as seasoned officers, dispatchers, animal control staff, crisis intervention and more to understand their fears and likes and idiosyncrasies exhibited to improve your service to the community. Participation can be tuition free for certain job titles in public safety in North Carolina. Attendance by people from other states is most welcome. This is a live-online webinar in the WakeTech training classroom. The class is not new to the area, as it is returning to Raleigh.
